Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Martinsville
At Oak Crest’s Martinsville, New Jersey location, our Teen Travel Program is tailored for 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. Within this program, teens not only engage in Oak Crest activities but also have the opportunity to explore a variety of day and overnight trips. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. Conversely, 8th and 9th graders attend camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days occurring on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, participants can choose between 2- or 3-day overnight trips for added adventure.
In our Martinsville, New Jersey location, Camp for teens operates with a well-organized group schedule. Teens follow this structured routine, moving in groups of 10-15 campers, each under the supervision of carefully vetted counselors. The schedule encompasses two free swim periods, engaging activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative pursuits, and two designated Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teens enjoy the freedom to select their preferred activity, allowing them to explore a diverse range of options by choosing a new one during each Choice period.
In Martinsville, New Jersey, our Teen Travel program maintains a strong commitment to safety when venturing outside the camp premises. All Teen Travel campers, along with their parents, are required to sign our Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Similar to other camp divisions, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by an adult Division Head. These experienced heads are responsible for the camp division’s supervision, ensuring safety during both day and overnight trips. Our Teen Staff members receive specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and handle the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
