Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Metuchen
At Oak Crest in Metuchen, New Jersey, our Teen Travel Program caters to 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. Participants engage in a blend of on-site Oak Crest activities and exciting off-campus day and overnight excursions. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. In contrast, 8th and 9th graders follow a schedule where they are at camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while their travel days are on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, Teens have the flexibility to opt for either 2- or 3-day overnight trips for added adventure.
At our Metuchen, New Jersey location, Camp for teenagers follows a meticulously organized group schedule. Campers, numbering 10-15 per group, are under the vigilant supervision of rigorously vetted counselors. The daily itinerary comprises two free swim sessions, an assortment of activities including the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative endeavors, and two designated Choice periods. These Choice periods afford teens the freedom to select their preferred activities, granting them the opportunity to explore a diverse range of options as they can choose a new activity during each Choice period.
At our Metuchen, New Jersey location, the safety of our teenage campers remains paramount, even when they venture beyond the camp premises. All Teen Travel participants and their parents are required to endorse the Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety. Similar to other camp divisions, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs operate under the guidance of a dedicated adult Division Head. These Division Heads are entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing their respective divisions within the camp and accompanying them on both day and overnight trips. Our Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to adeptly supervise campers in public spaces and address the distinctive challenges associated with the early adolescent stage.
