Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Middlesex
At our Middlesex, New Jersey location, the teenage campers at Camp Oak Crest follow a well-organized group schedule. They transition between activities within smaller groups, typically consisting of 10-15 campers, all under the vigilant supervision of carefully screened counselors. The daily schedule is designed to offer a balanced mix of experiences, including two sessions of free swim, engaging activities such as the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a wide range of both athletic and creative pursuits, and two designated Choice periods. These Choice periods grant teenagers the flexibility to select the activity of their choice, allowing them to explore a diverse array of options by choosing a new activity during each Choice period.
At our Middlesex, New Jersey location, the safety and well-being of our teenage campers are paramount, especially when they venture beyond our camp premises. To ensure a secure environment, all Teen Travel campers and their parents are required to adhere to our rigorous Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety. This includes signing our Teen Travel Behavior Contract, a commitment to responsible behavior during their travels.
In alignment with our standard practices across different camp divisions, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are under the vigilant supervision of an adult Division Head. These Division Heads are responsible for overseeing the respective divisions within the camp and accompany the teens on both day and overnight trips. Additionally, our dedicated Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
