Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near New Brunswick
At Oak Crest, our New Brunswick, New Jersey location hosts an enriching Teen Travel Program designed for 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. Participants engage in a diverse range of Oak Crest activities while also venturing on both day and overnight trips. Seventh graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. Conversely, 8th and 9th graders attend camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, Teens have the option to choose between 2-day and 3-day overnight trips.
At our New Brunswick, New Jersey location, our Teen Camp maintains a well-structured group schedule. Campers, typically in groups of 10-15, are closely supervised by rigorously screened counselors. The schedule features two dedicated periods for free swim, engaging activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative options, and two Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teenagers have the freedom to select activities of their choice, providing them with the opportunity to explore a diverse range of activities by choosing different ones during each Choice period.
At our New Brunswick, New Jersey location, the safety of our teens is of paramount importance, and we have implemented stringent Oak Crest Travel Protocols to ensure their well-being when outside the camp premises. All Teen Travel campers and their parents are required to sign our Teen Travel Behavior Contract, demonstrating their commitment to safety guidelines. Similar to other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by experienced adult Division Heads who are responsible for the division’s well-being during camp activities and accompanying them on day and overnight trips. Our Teen Staff members undergo specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and handle the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
