Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near North Plainfield
At Oak Crest, our North Plainfield, New Jersey location hosts a dynamic Teen Travel Program tailored for 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. Our teen campers engage in both Oak Crest activities and exciting day and overnight trips. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. Conversely, 8th and 9th graders have camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days occurring on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Furthermore, our teens have the option to participate in 2- or 3-day overnight excursions.
In our North Plainfield, New Jersey location, the teenage campers at Camp follow a well-organized group schedule. They navigate through activities in smaller groups of 10-15 campers, under the supervision of meticulously vetted counselors. The schedule encompasses two dedicated periods for free swim, engaging options like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a diverse array of athletic and creative pursuits, as well as two Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teenagers enjoy the freedom to select their preferred activities, encouraging them to explore a wide range of options by choosing a new one during each Choice period.
At our North Plainfield, New Jersey location, when our teenage campers venture beyond our camp premises, we prioritize safety through the stringent Oak Crest Travel Protocols. All Teen Travel campers and their parents must commit to our Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Similar to other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by a responsible adult Division Head. This individual is entrusted with the supervision of their respective division, both during camp activities and on day and overnight trips. Our dedicated Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to ensure effective supervision of campers in public spaces and to handle the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
