Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Plainfield
At Oak Crest, our Teen Travel Program caters to 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students, offering an exciting summer experience in Plainfield, New Jersey. Our campers get to immerse themselves in Oak Crest’s activities while also embarking on various day and overnight trips. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. In contrast, 8th and 9th graders have camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Furthermore, our Teens have the flexibility to choose between 2- or 3-day overnight trips.
At our Plainfield, New Jersey facility, Camp for teens follows a well-organized group schedule. Teens are grouped in sizes of 10-15 campers, each under the supervision of thoroughly screened counselors. The daily itinerary consists of two free swim periods, engaging activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative endeavors, and two designated Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teens have the autonomy to select their preferred activities, providing them with the opportunity to explore a wide range of activities by choosing different ones during each Choice period.
In our Plainfield, New Jersey location, the safety of our teens outside the camp premises is of utmost importance. We enforce strict adherence to Oak Crest Travel Protocols to ensure their well-being. Every Teen Travel camper and their parents are required to sign a Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Just like other divisions within our camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by an experienced adult Division Head. These Division Heads are responsible for managing their respective divisions within the camp and accompanying campers on both day and overnight trips. Our dedicated Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and navigate the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
