Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Sayreville
At Oak Crest, our Sayreville, New Jersey location offers a unique Teen Travel Program for 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. Teen campers engage in a blend of on-site Oak Crest activities and off-site day and overnight trips. 7th graders participate in camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. On the other hand, 8th and 9th graders attend camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while their travel days are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, teenagers have the option to select either 2-day or 3-day overnight trips.
At our Sayreville, New Jersey location, Camp for teens follows a structured group schedule. Campers are organized into small groups of 10-15 individuals, closely supervised by rigorously screened counselors. The daily schedule comprises two free swim sessions, engaging activities such as the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative pursuits, and two Choice periods. These Choice periods grant teens the freedom to select their preferred activity, enabling them to explore a wide range of options by choosing a new one during each Choice period.
At our Sayreville, New Jersey location, the safety of our teens outside the camp premises is of paramount importance. Teen Travel campers strictly adhere to Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety. Parents and their Teen Travel campers must sign our Teen Travel Behavior Contract as a requirement. Like other divisions within our camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are under the guidance of an experienced Division Head. These Division Heads are responsible for overseeing their respective divisions within the camp and accompanying them on both day and overnight trips. Our dedicated Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and handle the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
