Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Scotch Plains
At our Scotch Plains, New Jersey location, Oak Crest offers a specialized Teen Travel Program for 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. This program enables teen campers to immerse themselves in Oak Crest activities while also embarking on exciting day and overnight trips. 7th graders participate in camp activities on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. In contrast, 8th and 9th graders attend camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Furthermore, Teens have the option to choose between 2- or 3-day overnight trips to enhance their summer experience.
In our Scotch Plains, New Jersey location, Camp Oak Crest provides a structured group schedule for teenagers. Campers are organized into groups of 10-15 individuals, closely supervised by thoroughly vetted counselors. This schedule encompasses two dedicated free swim sessions, as well as engaging activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses. Additionally, campers can enjoy a variety of athletic and creative pursuits. There are also two Choice periods, during which teens have the freedom to select their preferred activity. This flexibility enables them to explore a diverse range of activities by choosing something new during each Choice period.
In Scotch Plains, New Jersey, our Oak Crest location maintains rigorous safety protocols for teens when they venture outside the camp premises. All Teen Travel campers and their parents are mandated to sign the Teen Travel Behavior Contract, which outlines expected conduct. Similar to other camp divisions, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by an adult Division Head. These division heads are responsible for managing the camp division and accompany the teens on both day and overnight trips. Our Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to adeptly supervise campers in public spaces and address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
