Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Somerset County
At Oak Crest, our Teen Travel Program in Somerset County, New Jersey, is designed for 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. Our program offers a blend of on-site activities and off-site adventures. 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with dedicated day trips on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Conversely, 8th and 9th graders are on-site on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while they embark on travel days on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, our Teen campers have the option to choose from 2- or 3-day overnight trips.
Located in Somerset County, New Jersey, our Teen Camp follows a well-structured group schedule. Campers, typically in groups of 10-15, are closely supervised by screened counselors as they navigate their day. The schedule consists of two free swim sessions, engaging activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative endeavors, as well as two Choice periods. These Choice periods grant teens the freedom to select their preferred activity, encouraging exploration of a diverse range of options with the opportunity to choose anew during each Choice period.
In Somerset County, New Jersey, our Teen Camp location prioritizes safety outside the campgrounds through rigorous adherence to the Oak Crest Travel Protocols. All Teen Travel campers, along with their parents, are obligated to sign our Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Much like other divisions within our camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are under the vigilant oversight of an adult Division Head. These supervisors are responsible for managing the respective divisions within the camp and accompanying campers on day and overnight trips. Our dedicated Teen Staff members undergo specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and navigate the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
