Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near South Bound Brook

At our South Bound Brook, New Jersey location, Oak Crest offers a unique Teen Travel Program for 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. The program enables teens to engage in a variety of on-site activities at Oak Crest while also providing opportunities for off-site day and overnight trips. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. Conversely, 8th and 9th graders follow a schedule with camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, accompanied by travel days on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, participants have the option to choose between 2-day or 3-day overnight trips.

At our South Bound Brook, New Jersey facility, teenagers attending Camp follow a well-organized group schedule. They transition between activities within small groups comprising 10-15 campers, under the supervision of thoroughly vetted counselors. The schedule encompasses two free swim sessions, engaging activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a wide selection of athletic and creative endeavors, and two designated Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teenagers have the autonomy to select the activity of their preference, providing them with the opportunity to explore a diverse range of activities by choosing a new one during each Choice period.

At our South Bound Brook, New Jersey location, when venturing beyond the camp premises, our teenage participants rigorously adhere to the Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety. All Teen Travel campers, along with their parents, are required to endorse our Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Much like other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are placed under the vigilant supervision of an adult Division Head. These Division Heads are responsible for overseeing their respective divisions within the camp and accompany campers on both day and overnight excursions. Our dedicated Teen Staff undergo specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and adeptly manage the distinctive challenges associated with the early adolescent age group.
