Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Warren
At Oak Crest in Warren, New Jersey, our 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students actively participate in our Teen Travel Program. This program offers a blend of on-site Oak Crest activities along with immersive day and overnight trips. 7th graders engage with camp activities on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. Conversely, 8th and 9th graders attend camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while their travel days are on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Moreover, teens have the option to choose between 2-day and 3-day overnight trips for added adventure.
In Warren, New Jersey, at our Camp location, our teen program operates under a structured group schedule. Campers are organized into groups of 10-15, closely supervised by rigorously screened counselors. The schedule comprises two designated free swim periods, participation in activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative endeavors, as well as two Choice periods. These Choice periods grant teens the freedom to select their preferred activities, fostering exploration and variety as they can choose a new activity during each Choice period.
At our Warren, New Jersey location, the safety of our teens is of paramount importance. When offsite, our Teen Travel program strictly adheres to the Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety. All Teen Travel campers and their parents are required to sign our Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Similar to other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by a responsible adult Division Head. These Division Heads are tasked with the supervision of their respective divisions within the camp and accompany them on both day and overnight trips. Furthermore, our dedicated Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
