Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near West Windsor
At Oak Crest in West Windsor, New Jersey, our 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students actively engage in the Teen Travel Program. This program offers them the chance to participate in a variety of on-site Oak Crest activities while also exploring exciting day and overnight trips. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. On the other hand, 8th and 9th graders follow a different schedule, attending camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays and embarking on travel days on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, teens have the option to choose between 2- or 3-day overnight trips to enhance their camp experience.
At our West Windsor, New Jersey location, the teenage campers at Camp follow a structured group schedule, ensuring a well-organized and supervised experience. They are grouped in sizes of 10-15 campers, with diligent screening of counselors. The daily schedule comprises two periods of free swim, participation in activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative endeavors, and two designated Choice periods. These Choice periods grant teens the autonomy to select their preferred activities, offering them the opportunity to explore a diverse range of options by choosing a new activity during each Choice period.
At our West Windsor, New Jersey location, the safety of our teens during off-site activities is of paramount importance. Teen Travel campers strictly adhere to Oak Crest’s Travel Protocols for Safety whenever they leave the camp premises. To ensure the safety and responsibility of all participants, both Teen Travel programs for 7th graders and 8th & 9th graders require campers and their parents to sign the Teen Travel Behavior Contract.
Similar to other camp divisions, both 7th Grade Teen Travel and 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by a responsible adult Division Head. This individual is entrusted with the supervision of their respective division within the camp and accompanies campers on both day and overnight trips. Our dedicated Teen Staff members undergo specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
