Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Westfield
At Oak Crest, our Westfield, New Jersey location offers a unique Teen Travel Program for 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. Our program combines immersive Oak Crest activities with exciting day and overnight trips. 7th graders participate in camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. In contrast, 8th and 9th graders attend camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, teens have the option to partake in 2- or 3-day overnight trips for an even more enriching experience.
At our Westfield, New Jersey location, the teenage campers at Camp follow a well-organized group schedule. They participate in various activities within groups consisting of 10-15 campers, under the guidance of thoroughly vetted counselors. The schedule encompasses two dedicated free swim periods, engaging activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative pursuits, as well as two Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teens enjoy the flexibility to select the activity of their choice, encouraging them to explore a diverse range of options by making a new selection during each Choice period.
At our Westfield, New Jersey location, the safety of our teens is paramount, especially when they are off-site. We maintain strict adherence to the Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety during such times. All Teen Travel campers, along with their parents, are required to sign the Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Similar to other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by experienced adult Division Heads, who are responsible for managing and accompanying the campers on both day and overnight trips. Our dedicated Teen Staff members undergo specialized training to ensure effective supervision of campers in public spaces and address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
