Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Whitehouse Station
At Oak Crest, our 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students actively participate in our Teen Travel Program located in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey. This program offers a blend of immersive Oak Crest activities alongside opportunities for day and overnight trips.
To provide a breakdown, 7th graders engage with camp activities on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. In contrast, 8th and 9th graders’ schedules are structured differently, as they attend camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, reserving Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for their travel adventures. Additionally, our Teen participants have the choice of opting for 2- or 3-day overnight trips, enhancing their overall camp experience.
At our Whitehouse Station, New Jersey facility, our Teen Camp offers a meticulously organized group schedule. Teen participants navigate their daily activities in small groups, typically consisting of 10-15 campers, under the vigilant supervision of rigorously vetted counselors.
This schedule is thoughtfully designed to include two dedicated periods for free swim, as well as a variety of engaging options such as the Climbing Tower, Ropes Courses, and a wide spectrum of athletic and creative endeavors. Additionally, there are two designated “Choice periods” woven into the schedule. During these Choice periods, teenagers have the freedom to select the activities that pique their interest, granting them the opportunity to explore a diverse array of offerings by choosing a new activity during each Choice period.
At our Whitehouse Station, New Jersey location, when our teenage campers venture beyond the camp premises, we prioritize safety through rigorous adherence to Oak Crest Travel Protocols. Each Teen Travel camper, along with their parents, is required to sign our Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Similar to the other divisions within our camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs operate under the vigilant oversight of a responsible adult Division Head. These Division Heads are entrusted with the task of supervising their respective divisions within the camp, and they accompany the campers on both day and overnight trips.
Our dedicated Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to adeptly supervise campers in public spaces and effectively handle the unique challenges associated with the early adolescent stage, ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience for all.
